A Little Perspective

Jeremiah 24:5 “Thus saith the LORD, the God of Israel; Like these good figs, so will I acknowledge them that are carried away captive of Judah, whom I have sent out of this place into the land of the Chaldeans for their good.”

As I was reading this morning this verse stuck out to me! The people of Israel have seen so many hard times and when we look at them, we can see that all this correlates to their spiritual choices. Israel is a great teacher to the Christians, and we should all take heed of what Israel has been taught so many times. This verse lets us see that sometimes God does things in our lives and allows things to happen to us to open our eyes, to allow us to make the right choice. The people of Judah were taken captive and God allowed it. So many times, people want to blame the devil for all bad things, and he should be blamed for all evil things but a lot of time I think we can misinterpret a situation and not realize that God has allowed a trial to wake us up, to teach us something or to give us something. He said, “whom I have sent out of this place into the land of the Chaldeans for their good”. Not every trial is meant to break you or pull you away sometimes they are meant to strengthen and draw us closer! Romans 8:28 shows us “And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose.” However there is another side to this as well that we must acknowledge for those that do not choose to acknowledge God and turn to Him in their time of trial God said in Jeremiah 24:10 “And I will send the sword, the famine, and the pestilence, among them, till they be consumed from off the land that I gave unto them and to their fathers.” So, as we are amid the trial today let us take inventory and make sure that we are taking this time to draw closer not pulling away from God and He has promised us that if we do this, He will build us up that He will work it out for our good! Praise God! Sometimes we just need a little perspective which His word gives! I want to encourage you if you haven’t opened your Bible today to take a few minutes right now and get some perspective!
